Cinematic films among lavender fields, olive groves, and Provençal estates

Provence is arguably the most sought-after region for weddings in France. With its lavender fields, centuries-old olive trees, stone mas, and exceptional light, it offers a naturally cinematic setting. We regularly travel to the Luberon, the Alpilles, the Var, and the Bouches-du-Rhône to capture weddings of incomparable beauty.

The magic of Provence

What makes Provence so special for a wedding is, first and foremost, its light. That warm, golden light that inspired Cézanne and Van Gogh is a dream for any videographer. The landscapes lend themselves naturally to cinema: avenues of plane trees, endless lavender fields, villages perched on hilltops. Add the sound of cicadas, the scent of rosemary, and the gentle air, and you have the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding.

Our favorite Provence venues

The Luberon is our favorite playground in Provence. Estates like the Château de la Tour d'Aigues, Clos Saint-Estève, or renovated mas around Gordes offer exceptional settings. In the Alpilles, around Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Les Baux-de-Provence, the mineral landscapes and olive trees create a timeless atmosphere. The Var and its wine estates, between sea and hills, are also magnificent settings for weddings.

Capturing the Provençal light

In Provence, light dictates the rhythm of filming. In the morning, it's soft and low, perfect for preparations. At midday, shadows are crisp and contrast is at its peak — ideal for graphic images. And the golden hour, between 6pm and 8pm in summer, is simply magical. We systematically plan the couple session during this golden window. Sunsets over the lavender or vineyards produce images you'll never forget.

Planning a Provençal wedding

Weddings in Provence have their own rhythm. Summer days are long (the sun doesn't set until after 9pm), allowing for ambitious schedules. Outdoor ceremonies are the norm, often under plane trees or facing the mountains. Cocktail hours take place in gardens, among fountains and olive trees. And evenings, under string lights and stars, have an incomparable charm. We know this rhythm well and adapt perfectly to it.

Travel and logistics

Provence is accessible in 3 hours by TGV from Paris (to Aix-en-Provence or Avignon). We include travel costs in our packages for all of Provence. For summer weddings, we arrive the day before for scouting and to experience the venue's light at the exact time of the ceremony. It's a detail that makes all the difference in the quality of the final result.
