Lara & Sami — A Luxury Wedding in Marrakech: Tradition, Fire and Pure Emotion

Some weddings stay with you long after the lights go out. Lara and Sami's is one of them. On the 3rd and 4th of April 2026, we had the privilege of witnessing — and being part of — two extraordinary days in Marrakech. A wedding planned to the finest detail, wrapped in a golden Oriental atmosphere, across three exceptional venues.

Thursday, 3rd April — The Welcome Night at Palais Soleiman

Before the ceremony itself, Thursday evening set the tone. We headed to Palais Soleiman for a traditional Moroccan welcome dinner. The dress code: traditional attire — for guests and vendors alike. We dressed in our finest garments to join over a hundred guests in the magic of a candlelit palace.

Lara and Sami arrived in grand style, carried in an amaria — the traditional Moroccan wedding palanquin — to the sound of hypnotic music. The oriental dancers of Comptoir Darna then lit up the floor with two unforgettable performances. DJ Spicy on the decks, canapés, open bar, and a family who knows how to celebrate: the party lasted until 2am.

That first evening was a sign of what was to come: a wedding where every moment is an experience in itself.

Friday, 4th April — Getting Ready at La Mamounia

8:30am. Lara, her mother and bridesmaids were settled in a suite at La Mamounia — the legendary palace hotel, a true Marrakech institution. Makeup artist and hair stylist Haley crafted a radiant bridal look. Meanwhile, in the hotel's iconic gardens, our team photographed the groom Sami — amid lush greenery, the Menzeh, and the striking black-and-white hall.

Lara's dress deserves its own paragraph. Custom-made in Turkey by Nicole Felicia Couture, it was a deep, sumptuous burgundy. What makes it truly unique: their love story is hand-embroidered on the train. Every centimetre of fabric tells something about them. A masterpiece — as much textile as emotional.

The First Look — The Bride Reveals Her Dress to the Bridesmaids

3:15pm. The first look at La Mamounia — a brief but emotionally charged moment. Lara appears for the first time in her burgundy dress before her bridesmaids. The reactions are immediate: tears, laughter, gasps. The hand-embroidered train, the deep colour of the gown in the afternoon light... these spontaneous moments make for the most powerful images.

The Ceremony at Villa D — Love Under the Sun

Villa D, nestled in the Marrakech palm grove, hosted the open-air ceremony. The April sun shone bright — and Lara had thought of everything: personalised parasols and fans, designed by the bride herself, distributed to every guest. A gesture that perfectly sums up the attention poured into every detail.

Guest dress code: all black. An elegant, dark canvas that perfectly highlighted the burgundy dress and the floral compositions by The Bloom Room Marrakech.

The ceremony opened to Iglika's violin notes. Sami walked in on his mother's arm — a moment of tenderness that moved the entire room. Then, to a live performance of A Thousand Years, Lara appeared on her father's arm. The assembly fell completely silent.

The vows, spoken in English, moved everyone to tears. As a symbol, Lara and Sami exchanged Jaeger-LeCoultre watches — a way of saying their time together begins now. The ceremony ended with I Am His and He Is Mine and with a surprise from the groom's mother that left the entire room breathless.

Cocktails, Horses and Fire — The Golden Hour

The evening blended cocktails with live saxophone and drums, before the highlight of the show: at 7:10pm, as the sun set over the palm grove, Sadek rode in with his horse for a breathtaking display of equestrian skill with fire. Flames against the golden evening light — an image that words struggle to fully capture.

Dinner, Speeches and the Night

The couple entered the dining marquee to Barry White's My First My Last My Everything, performed live by pianist Pahppee. A royal buffet, soft melodies, then heartfelt speeches — including a surprise intervention by Matthieu that brought simultaneous laughs and tears.

At 9:45pm, the horses returned for the final spectacular show outside the marquee, followed by cake cutting and the couple's grand entrance onto the dance floor. Aquarella's dancers, DJ Spicy, and a room that danced until 2am.

A Film Delivered That Same Evening

Our tradition at landmark weddings: a Same Day Edit — a first film delivered on the evening itself, while the party is still in full swing. While guests danced, our team was editing, colour-grading, and delivering the first images of their day to Lara and Sami before midnight.

The Team and Credits

This wedding was a team effort: six people from The Nice Guys on the ground — Peter, Catarina, Léo, Angela, Jordan and Pauline. Alongside exceptional vendors: Party Maroc and La Perle Events coordinating, Haley for beauty, The Bloom Room Marrakech for the flowers, and all the artisans who made this wedding a masterpiece.
